Plant micro-reserves in Valencia (E. Spain): A model to preserve threatened flora in China?

The Valencian Community (eastern Spain) was the pioneer territory establishing plant micro-reserves (PMRs). Its model to protect small sites for endemic and endangered plants has been exported to several countries around the globe. This paper highlights 1) the role of PMRs to complement the protection provided by large protected areas, 2) how the establishment of PMRs fosters the increase of floristic knowledge, and 3) the fact that continuous monitoring of PMRs also yields new records of endangered species found within the same PMRs. Recently, a well-established population of the hygromiid Ganula lanuginosa has been discovered in the Iberian Peninsula, specifically in Xàtiva (Province of Valencia, Spain), corresponding to the first record for the Iberian Peninsula and the Continental Europe. It is a land snail native to North Africa and also known from the European Mediterranean islands, namely the Balearic Islands (Spain), Sardinia (Italy) and Corsica (France). Objetivo: Realizar un inventario de los recursos públicos en la atención bucodental de la Comunidad Valenciana (España).Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de los recursos humanos y materiales implicados en la atención bucodental pública. Se visitaron los hospitales, centros de atención primaria y centros de especialidades de los 22 departamentos de salud, se realizaron entrevistas estructuradas al personal.Resultados: De los 120 centros de atención, 99 fueron de atención primaria, seguidos de especialidades y hospitales. Una aproximación económica a las sociedades musicales

This article is a summary of the first phase of a deeper project which aim is to study the socioeconomic dimension of musical societies. To do so, after having highlighted the importance and significance of musical societies in the Valencian Community, we try to frame their complex organizational and institutional delimitation within the theory of non-profit organizations. By doing so, we are able to make explicit most of the characteristics and functions that define musical societies’ activities. Finally, from the characterization of musical societies as non-assistance multiproductive unities, we offer some descriptive notes about the productive aspects of these societies.
